For so long I have been searching for the perfect foundation. One that left a soft glow, but wasn’t too dewey. One that would brighten up my skin, but wasn’t too yellow. I have finally found it. After much tribulation come the blessings! I have found the holy grail of all foundations.
It’s called Glow Time Full Coverage Mineral BB Cream by Jane Iredale, and it is treasure. I will never wear anything but this on my delicate little face. I stumbled upon Jane Iredale makeup when I started managing my first medical skin spa in Chicago years ago. I was hooked ever since. This BB Cream provides the perfect balance of coverage without being too heavy or cakey.
A little background on Jane Iredale; she is the founder and president of Iredale Mineral Cosmetics, a mineral makeup line that was founded in 1994. She was the first to supply the aesthetic industry with a line of makeup that had skin care benefits. Seven of her products have earned The Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Recommendation, meaning that there is scientific data proving that her mineral makeup safely aids in the prevention of sun-inducing damage.
Another reason to love Jane Iredale is that all her products are certified cruelty-free by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics’ (CCIC) Leaping Bunny Program. The Bunny Program recognizes and supports companies that are doing their part to eliminate the cruel and unnecessary use of animals in the testing of cosmetic products and ingredients. They do not test their products on animals, use ingredients tested on animals or sell into markets that require animal testing.
Another benefit of J.I. mineral makeup is that I only have to apply it once, and it stays on all day. All of her products use pure mineral pigments with no fillers, (like talc) and it gives amazing coverage with no touch-ups. The makeup binds perfectly to resist running, creasing and smearing. She carries a few different types of mineral foundations that have different finishes from sheer, to full, to luminescent to velvety. I love the BB Cream because it minimizes pores and disguises fine lines and wrinkles.
Another Jane favorite is the PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation. (It’s called foundation but acts more as a powder.) The overall feel of the powder is weightless and the look is sheer and semi-matte. The powder contains Titanium Dioxide along with Zinc Oxide to help calm and sooth skin irritations and any redness; it also contains SPF 20 UVB/UVA.
When it comes to makeup, keeping a steady flow of the Glow Time BB Cream and PurePressed Mineral Base Foundation are the only things I care about. The J.I. PurePressed Eyeshadows are awesome too. They are very pigmented and super easy to blend. I’ve never had a problem with creasing and they last all day long. If you couldn’t already tell, I’m basically saying is that all J.I. mineral makeup is amazing and worth the splurge. It’s good for your skin and sits pretty on your face.
