It’s been a while since I’ve written a beauty product review and I am SOOO excited to write about my latest skin care obsession! I feel like the word ‘miracle’ gets thrown around a lot in the beauty world and most of the time these heaven- sent products don’t live up to their reputation. For the most part, I’m a skeptic when it comes to too-good-to-be-true products and I rarely re-purchase pricey ones at that, but the more I heard about Sunday Riley the more curious I became.
I went to Sephora, and stared at the ‘Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment’ bottle for a bit. I was a little hesitant to drop over a $100 on a small bottle of serum but I’m so glad I finally pulled the trigger. This serum is absolutely amazing!
I know this product may seem like an expensive gimmick, but it’s truly one of the best products I own. I’ve always had sensitive, oily, and acne prone skin and this wonder serum is a serum that actually shows results fast. I’ve had a lot of hyperpigmentation due to being in the sun and leftover scarring from old breakouts. Good Genes has dramatically balanced out my discoloration and texture leaving my skin noticeably brighter, plump, and less-congested.
Good Genes is like a facial in a bottle. If your face is looking tired, blotchy, or breaking out, it wakes your skin up and commands it to behave. It’s so versatile and can be used as a mask, a leave-on product under your makeup, or it can be used in conjunction with Sunday Rileys ‘Luna Oil’ at night. The lactic acid in the serum helps slough off the dead layer of your skin without any sort of irritation.
I’ve read some reviews about people complaining about the weird smell; it’s a fresh, clean, herbal, lemongrassy scent, and I think it’s so lovely! (Especially compared to other lactic acid treatments.)
Sunday Riley is known for their amazing high quality skincare products and they will continue to be a staple in my beauty routine. Good Genes has been a miracle when it comes to my complexion and totally worth the cost. I LOVE THIS SERUM!
